The news that the parent Kodak Company of USA has filed for bankruptcy has made us very sad.
There is some consolation in the announcement that the Indian operations of Kodak USA 's affiliate Kodak India would not be affected. Kodak India had come out with a Public Issue in late 1970 s ( under FERA ) under the name Indian Photo Co. Ltd.
We have grown up with Kodak. Our Colour Hindi films proudly stated Eastman Colour. It was a Premium Brand Like 24 carat Gold . Same with Still photography. Kodak which pioneered personal photography has gone the Remington Rand ( portable type writers ) way.
