When Labour Party first came to power in UK, in 1924 ( under Ramsay Macdonald ) the Cabinet was to meet the King ( as was the tradition ). The King kept waiting . The Delay , it was found out was that protocol demanded that one must be dressed in a suit to meet the King.And of all the members of Ramsay Macdonald 's cabinet only one had a Coat.
