Dehradun- Mussoorie Electric Tramway Company Limited

( Maharaja Ripudaman of Nabha State had Rs. 10 Lakh Investment. Maharaja Jind had to sell his Rolls Royce Car after The Company went into Liquidation )

---------------
It appears that although named Dehradun Mussoorie Tramway the line was between Rajpur and Mussoorie .

I spent a lot of my childhood days in Rajpur where my family used to own a beautiful British times bungalow , I was fascinated by the remnants of this abandoned project.

One was a rail over bridge on the old Mussoorie road , near Chandra Lodge in Rajpur.

At Shahenshahi Ashram's front boundary the track passed on its Right side corner.
Road alignments meant for rail tracks were being used at Shahenshahi Ashram and else , around 1970s, by Gattu ( Chevrolet V6 , 4 X 4 with very high ground clearance) rugged mini trucks for ferrying limestone mined up in the mountains.

It appears that land / buildings of this failed project were taken over by the Railways . Its land etc , probably also earmarked for a Railway station en route at Jharipaani was dveloped in to a residential school for wards of Railway staff .
