Daresi Ground Ludhiana's Glorious History

 

 Daresi , situated in the heart of old Ludhiana ,is now famous for its magnificence Dussehra celebration ,

Daresi name is derived from the English word Dressed land , meaning a sort of levelled / plain area.

 

During the Great Revolt of 1857 Ludhiana town had overthrown the British. To take revenge , the British razed to the ground some 300 houses and the levelled ground as named Dressing Ground , also used for military parades.
